I just installed the plugin. What’s next?
Open your favorite host and load the plugin. In case you need extra help, please consult the "How to open ERA Bundle plugins in your DAW or NLE" article.
The first time you open the ERA 5 Reverb Remover Pro, you will see the following window:
What do all these controls do?
The most basic controls of the plugin are:
1) The Master Processing knob. This is the main knob! Most of the time, this is the only control you need to process your audio. Use it to adjust the processing applied to the whole signal. The higher the value, the more reverb is removed!
2) The bands that are displayed on the Spectral display correspond to frequency sections of the signal. The vertical dividers show the boundaries of each band. The bands allow for fine control of the reverb removal process. More information about the specific use of the bands can be found in the article about the Spectral Display.
3) On the left side of the plug-in, you will find the Processing Response slider. Use it to adjust the response of the de-reverberation processing.
If you recorded a voice or instrument in a big reverberant room, lean towards the FAST side of the processing response. This way you’ll be able to tame all these long reverb tails without compromising the quality of the recording.
If you recorded in a small yet echoey room, lean towards the SLOW side of the processing response. This way you’ll be able to control any short reflections while maintaining the intelligibility of the voice.
4) The Diff button allows you to hear exactly how much reverb is being removed. This is especially useful when we need to avoid overprocessing.
